Object Description
Ivory baby bib, made with cotton and detailed with linen. The top layer of the bib is slightly sheer and in the center is a detail of a dog and cat sitting next to each other on a tree branch. Underneath them are three flowers, each sitting on a upward curved leafed stem. The border of the top later is lines with an intersecting pattern of U-shapes with rounded ends. The botton layer is much thicker than the top and not decorated minus on the very back side where there is a small space with a stitched arrow shape. The neck strap does not connect at the ends but would simply would loop around the neck.
Origin
Created by Penolope Neokos. She was born in Greece in 1899. In later years she came to the United States with her husband Nickolas, also native to Greece, where they became citizens of Illinois. While in American her and her husband lived with her brother along with her two sons (Ernie and John) and their one daughter (Frances).
Created for one of her children, which is unknow but could have been originally made for Ernie and then used by the later two children.
