Object Description
Taupe, lace table mat. Rectangular shape. The placemat has an inner rectangle and a border piece. The inner rectangle has a floral design with surrounding scrolls. Essentially, there is one flower in the center surrounded by scroll patterns. The background of the interior rectangle also has a honeycomb pattern using cutwork. The border includes more floral and scroll patterns.
Origin
This table mat was created in Myteline, Greece by Anastasia "Mina" Tiftinksis. It can be used for a table setting when dining. It is unknown how or when the textile made its way to the US, nor is it known how the donor acquired it from Mina Tiftinksis.
