Object Description
Brass bottle opener. One side contains the image of a blue hulled, three masted sailing ship with red, blue, and yellow sails. The ship is sailing on a red sea set against an off-white background. The opposite side contains an image of an off-white sea horse set against a green background. Also set against the background are images of seaweed one each side of the sea horse and bubbles and stones.
Origin
Donated by Helen Gravenites. Bought as a souvenir in Greece in 1974. The sailing ship, while not the most common ship associated with Greece, represents Greece's strong marine history and culture. Likewise, the seahorse represents Greece's strong ties to the sea.
