Oval frame in black velvet with gold metal around the inner and outer edge. The embroidery design is of red roses with green leaves.The embroidery consists of roses that have at least three different shades of red, ranging from burgundy to pink, as well as some black thrown in. There are six flowers, three big ones and three small ones. The stems and leaves also have three different shades. The stems are dark, and the leaves each have a light side and a darker side. The frame is indented in the middle, with a protruding oval where the embroidery is. The rim of the frame is golden, as is the rim around the embroidery. It has a zigzag pattern. The back of the frame is black and hard, with a small triangle for hanging.

Embroidery such as this would be used as decoration. Based on the fact that some of the threads appear green under the actual stitches of some of the leaves, this design appears to have come from a pattern.
