Decorative pillow with blue velvet fabric and white lace on top. This square pillow is made of an blue colored velvet. On the top, white lace lays over the the velvet. This crocheted lace has a has somewhat of a floral design. In the center is a circle, and radiating out of that are petal-like shapes. The lace has a scalloped edge. The center of the crocheted lace overlay is not exactly in the center of the pillow. On the back, there is only velvet and no lace. There are no apparent stains on the pillow. The corners are slightly folded in, not by design, but perhaps through years of use. On one of the corners, some clear string is poking out.
This pillow was made by Anastasia Tiftiksis around 1950. It was used as a decorative throw pillow, perhaps to place on a couch, chair, or bed. It is unknown how or when the pillow was acquired by the donor.
