Object Description
A shadow box. The box is made with a light-weight wooden frame, a glass front, and a particle board back. The shadow box displays two pieces of an invitation to a party celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of Peter and Anna Sarantos. At the top left is the cover of the invitation, and at the bottom right is the inside of the invitation. At the top right and bottom left, but near the middle, are two artificial white roses. The flowers are surrounded by green leaves, gold ribbons and smaller gold fabric flowers.
Origin
This is a shadow box made to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Peter and Anna Sarantos. Inside the box is an invitation to their anniversary party. The Sarantoses were originally married in Gary, Indiana on November 10, 1935. Their anniversary party was held in Elm Grove, Wisconsin on November 10, 1985.
According to a card attached to the back, the shadow box was put together by a designer named Cookie Constant, working for the Reinders Bros. company.
