Object Description
Crocheted tablecloth, cream rectangle. The table runner has a diamond design, where half of the diamonds are filled with a gridlike pattern, while the other half has a starburst-type pattern, with a solid diamond of thread in the middle surrounded by strings reaching for the edges. The diamonds that are alike are connected to each other by their points, while opposite diamonds are located in the space between four like diamonds. The edge of the cloth has a border of a gridlike design, surrounded by a trim that looks like three small shapes that are almost circles stacked on top of each other.
Origin
Crochet is done by using a small hook to make interlocking designs out of yarn or thread. It is different than knitting in that it only has one stitch open at a time, while knitting has rows of stitches open at the same time.
