Object Description
Memorial collage made by Coula Papadatos to honor her parents. Depicted on a black velvet backing is, cotton crocheted lace made by Dionysia Papadatos, top section of the nightgown worn/made by Dionysia on her wedding night, wedding rings of Dionysia and Harry, gold locket with photos of couple, photographs, (the first image of the couple on their wedding day in 1914) (the last image taken together in 1951) along with a text panel with historical information about each individual.
Origin
Harry met Dionysia in their hometown of Zakynthos, Greece when he went to visit his aunt. Dionysia lived above Harry's aunt. He knew then they were to be married.
He had several gold pieces which he had melted down to make their wedding bands. Inside of each ring is the other's name.
