Object Description
Wooden Chalice with fluted edges and hand-painted flowers.  The body of the chalice is unfinished wood with hand carved and hand-painted chrysanthemum-type flowers. The flowers are bold and primitive in design and are painted red and yellow with green stems. Surrounding the flowers, there is Greek writing that says, Holy Mountain.
Origin
Donated by Coula Papadatos. The wooden chalices were handmade, carved, and painted in Mt. Athos, Greece. The chalices were most likely used in church servieces.
