Object Description
Beige peasant style blouse with square neckline and 3/4 length sleeves.  There are no buttons.  The bodice is thickly embroidered with brown, black and beige thread in a geometric design that uses diamond shapes in varying sizes and repeated artful patterns.  The bottom of the blouse hangs loose and is embellished with two rows of brown embroidery that matches the two bottom rows of embroidery on the bodice.  The bottom of the sleeves are unfitted (no cuffs) and are embellished with embroidery that matches the pattern on the top part of the bodice. 
Origin
Donated by Manda Gouvas on the behalf of Mr and Mrs. Harry Michas. The blouse was hand embroidered in Crete, Greece. It was worn by Helen (Eleni) Michas. Date unkown.
