Object Description
Handwoven green, white, and black tagari or bag. The background color of the bag is olive green. It has a black braided handle that runs all the way down both sides and is finished with tassels at the on each side.  Main design consists of two broad identical stripes running horizontally across the body of the bag. Each stripe has a white-black-white pattern; white design on top, black design in the middle, same white design (but inverted) on the bottom.  The white pattern has a circle perched on top of an upside down "V".  Between each of these white design elements there is what looks like a white, open "V" shaped design that fits perfectly in between. The black patterned row begins underneath the top row and is composed of ovals with an X in the middle. The next row is the same white design as the top, only inverted/upside down.  The black handle is tied together at the top.
Origin
Tagaris are traditionally made from one piece of woven cloth that is then in half and sewn together. They can be used as purses.
