Object Description
Square cross stitch tablecloth. It depicts men wearing red fezzes and red shoes with black poms on the end. They are also wearing a blue blouse and blue skirt with a red sash. In each hand they are holding a blue flag with a white X on it. They also have black bands around their legs. They are standing on a blue square that goes around the blanket, with their feet pointed toward the edge and their heads pointed toward the center. There are three men on each side. There is a blue square inside of this, which has one man on each side. There is a light blue border around the edge.
Origin
The men depicted on the tablecloth are evzones.

The Evzones, or Evzoni, is the name of several historical elite light infantry and mountain units of the Greek Army. Today, it refers to the members of the Presidential Guard, an elite ceremonial unit that guards the Greek Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Presidential Mansion, and the gate of Evzones camp in Athens.

The unit is famous around the world for its unique traditional uniform, which has evolved from the clothes worn by the klephts who fought the Ottoman occupation of Greece. The most visible item of this uniform is the fustanella, a kilt-like garment. Their proven valour and peculiar dress turned them into a popular image for the Greek soldier, especially among foreigners.
