Object Description
PIN - DEPICTING KOLOKOTRINIS.
Small, blue, gold, and white pin. The pin is in the shape of a circle. Along blue perimeter lined with gold, are the words, "PST O KOLOKOTRONS". The middle portion contains a white background with a gold profile of Theodoros Kolokotronis.
Origin
Theodoros Kolokotronis was a Greek general and the pre-eminent leader of the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire. In 1825, he was appointed the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Greek forces in the Peloponnese. Today, Kolokotronis ranks among the most revered of the protagonists of the War of Independence. He lived from 1770 to 1843.
