Object Description
A lace table runner. Hand-crocheted, beige, geometric, floral design with six petals per flower. Each successive ring of petals is connected by stitching, there are two rings of petals with an outline around them. Regularly interspersed within the 4x11 array of large flowers are smaller four-petaled flowers that fill the gaps. Connecting all the flowers are many crisscrossing threads.
Origin
The table runner is made by the donor's mother.
A lace table runner that serves the purposes of table runners today. They are decorative and can keep hot pots from burning the table. However, it seems more likely that this was used for more decorative purposes because it is a delicate fabric.
