Object Description
Handmade round multicolored cotton doily depicting a birdhouse. Burgundy cotton crocheted edge. The doily is made of solid, beige cotton, not laced, with an embroidered design in the center and decoration around the edge. The center has a nearly full circle made from stitched light blue thread. The circle is disrupted by the main design, which is a birdhouse surrounded by flowers. The birdhouse and plant parts are stitched in a bright, lighter green thread. The plants all have a flower, done in red, royal blue, crimson, lilac, and light pink. All of the flowers are gathered below the birdhouse, save for one blue flower that peaks over the roof of the birdhouse. On the base of the birdhouse, there is a yellow bird with a long green and crimson tail. Around the edge of the fabric is a crimson thread border done in decorative stitches that create a scalloped border.
