Object Description
Lady's off-white brocade turban with embroidered satin stitch design. There is a small off white felt bow. Attached in the middle of the bow is a silver and cz ball. There is a beige strip of fabric where the hat rested on the head. The inside is the same off white satin fabric. There is a large white label that says Mr. John Jr.
Origin
Donated by Bill and Peggy Vranas. The hat was worn by Helen Stamas Mitchell (Peggy's mother) circa 1950-1970. The hat was made by Mr. John who was a famous hat designer circa 1940-1970, most fame was 1940-1950. His hats were worn and sought after by hollywood celebrities and women in the higher societies.
