Object Description
A handmade red flokati woven from wool. The backing is red like the fluff which is flattened and frayed. There is one clump of white string tied to a corner of the rug. Stained in some places.
Origin
Donated by Martha Skan. A red handmade flokati rug. The rug is woven from wool as it traditionally is.

Flokati rugs originated in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. They are first handmade from wool and then set in a river so they can be fluffed. They are often made in the mountains of Greece.
