Object Description
Sheer cotton runner with hand embroidered elements on both ends.  Hand embroidered scalloped metallic-gold trim runs around the entire border of the runner.  Design elements include fleur de lis stems and red and orange flowers. Each flower has an embroidered grid-like design in its center. The flowers by the short edges are teardrop shaped, while the flowers above them are traditional flower shapes. The stems of the flowers are golden. The biggest flower in the middle has three circles below its stem.
Origin
Fleud de lis is traditionally associated with French monarchy. The three petals in the design were supposed to represent medieval social classes: workers, fighters, and prayers.
