Object Description
Dark cream colored tablecloth. Red and white embroidery square design with large abstract floral design in corners. Outer border of tulip looking flowers. It is cross stitched, and the colors appear to be red and pink. The tulips are arranged sprouting up from the bottom border, with one leaf on each side. The leaves and stem are red, the body of the flower is pink, and the middle of the flower is red. The outside border consists of a zig zagging red line with three pronged pink lines going off of it in either direction. At the corners of the cloth, there is a line leading up to a floral design on the corner of the inside border, as well as two lines to the side each leading to the inside border's outside lines. The middle of the inside border consists of red circles with pink dots in the middle and four pink stitches in a cross shape alternating in two rows.
Origin
The donor states: My father when he met my mother he immediately believed that she was to be his wife. He had two gold coins, which he had melted down and turned into wedding rings. He had his name put inside her ring and her name put inside of his ring. Her father arrived in 1912, and her mother arrived in 1914, when they got married.
