Object Description
Small cream colored table cloth. 6 inch border of yellow and brown embroidery of abstract flower geometrical design. Inside of this border, there is a plain cream square. The design is bordered with a brown line on either side. Inside of these borders, there are borders of four petaled flowers in an alternating pattern of yellow and brown. Between the two flower borders, there is an alternating geometric design of diamonds and squares. The diamonds are yellow with a yellow four petaled flower in the middle that has a brown center and brown shapes above the intersections of the petals. There are also brown triangles on the diagonal parts of the diamond. The square has a brown equal-sided cross with holes at the end of each arm and in the center, which are filled with yellow. There are also yellow flowers in between the arms of the cross, which have three petals. There is no backing.
Origin
Katherine Larentzakis was the donor's aunt. She lived in Canea on Crete.
