Object Description
Square mat with gold and brown cross stitch geometric pattern. Bronze, metallic edge, peach lining The pattern in gold is repeated. It consists of almost a diamond shape. number of x's, from the top row of the design to the bottom, is as follows: 1,3,1,3,5,5,3,1 with the stitches in the middle of the design so that it would be symmetric. The brown stitches outline this design, but leave room for a white border around it. The edge is bronze in color and consists of a thin rope folded upon itself to make a tight zigzagging pattern. The back of the mat is peach.
Origin
Place mat was used in the Greek Folk Art Exhibit.
