Object Description
Color photograph of the inside of St. Nicholas Albanian Church in Chicago. The photo is of two men wearing black religious garb and golden chains with crosses. This includes a black hat with a train behind it and a black robe. In the background, more religious people can be seen. There are pictures of Jesus and other people with halos along the walls, as well as candles hanging from gold colored candle holders
Origin
St. Nicholas Albanian Church was founded in 1944. Their first church building was purchased in 1947. The founders were from the southeastern part of Albania, a city called Korca. They are said to have an icon of Mother Mary that weeps as though by a miracle. Many visitors come to see this icon.
