Object Description
Color photograph of the inside of St. Nicholas Albanian Church in Chicago. There are red jars at the front of the church on the left side of the photograph. There is also a stand with three candles. In the front of the photograph, three pews can be seen. There is a stand with a black flag of a saint on it. The walls have a blue marble like design along the bottom. There are also stained glass windows along the edge.
Origin
St. Nicholas Albanian Church was founded in 1944. Their first church building was purchased in 1947. The founders were from the southeastern part of Albania, a city called Korca. They are said to have an icon of Mother Mary that weeps as though by a miracle. Many visitors come to see this icon.
