Object Description
Black and white photograph of the interior of a church, presumably SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. The picture is of the front of the church and is framed in an arch. In the center of the picture, tehere is a woman in robes with a halo and her arms spread. In front of her, there is a smaller man who also has a halo. On either side, there are angels on clouds playing what looks like lyres. In front of this picture, there is a wall with paintings of religious figures in each section. In the middle, there is what looks like a gate with a table with a tablecloth with crosses on it. On top of the tablecloth, there are some sort of objects. On the left side of ther fron there is a pulpit. The bottom of the photograph consists of pews. There is a man on the bottom left side of the photograph. On the inside of the arches there are Greek crosses, and the top of the arches has a black and white dashed line.
Origin
The Greek Orthodox Church is governed by a council of Bishops, called the Holy Synod. They are known for their tradition of iconography, and their use of the Divine Liturgy on Sundays.

Helen was the mother of Constantine. They are credited with placing Christianity at the heart of Western civilization. Helen is noted for her piety while Constantine was an Emperor in the Roman Empire when Christianity was becoming the dominant religion.
