Object Description
A black-and-white photographic print. A large group of people is standing or sitting in five rows on and in front of a stage. Most of the people are children, with the young sitting in front and the oldest standing in the back, on the stage. There are six adults sitting in the middle of the second row, with the two in the center holding a bouquet. Almost all of the children are wearing white. Many of them have ribbons on their chests, and some have flowers pinned to their chests, while others are holding flowers in their hands. On of the boys in the back row is holding a framed icon of the Virgin Mary with Christ Child, and behind them is another icon that appears to depict Saint John the Theologian. Behind the group, on either side of the stage, are flag poles with the American flage (left) and Greek flag (right). Over the top of the stage is an awning with a letter that is partially cut off but may be a "G".
Origin
This is almost certainly a Sunday School picture, although which church is uncertain. Based on the stage and the partile letter visible over it, it may be St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago.
