Object Description
A hand-colored photographic print of a young girl. The girl is wearing a short-sleeved, light blue dress that ends just below the knee. Her hair is light-colored and ear length, with bangs, and there is a large blue bow on her head. She is wearing a gold-colored necklace with a round, gold-colored pendant. She is wearing black shoes and appear to be wearing white spats over the shoes. Her left hand is wresting on a table to her left (camera right). In front of her and to the right (camera left) is a basket full of flowers with a large pink bow on the handle. The girl is standing on a brown floor with a green surface behind her. The print is mounted on a convex paper board backing. On the back is the name "Coula Papadatos" above and between the first and last names is a caret with the name "Harry" written above it. Below the name, "(Pappas)" is written, and below that is the following: 9/15/1915, 21 months 25 days.
Origin
This is picture of a very young Coula Papadatos. Based on the writing on the back, Coula may be the daughter of Harry Papadatos. The print appears to have originally come from a black-and-white photograph and has been heavily colored by hand. Some of the features may not have been in the original photograph and may have been added during the colorization process.
