Object Description
Photographic print of a formal portrait in full color on high-gloss photo paper. The image shows a Greek Orthodox clergyman. He is wearing the tall headpiece, with black fabric drapping down his back, a black, long-sleeved robe, a medallion on a long chain around his neck, and a black cane with a golden metallic, carved metal head. He is sitting in a chair with ornate arms, a canned back, and what looks like a crown decorating the top of the chair back. Beside him is a flag. He has a pair of wide, wire-frame glasses, and a long white beard and mustache. There is a white rectangular border along the edges of the photo, with the bottom part larger than the rest. On the bottom corner there is an inscription written in Greek handwritten text

photo is of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (given name Dimitrios Arhondonis (Dimítrios Archontónis), was born in the village of Zeytinli, Turkey. He has been in this role as leader of the Orthodox faith since Nov 2, 1999. He is the leader of 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide. He is also known as Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, and the Archbishop of Constantinople. He is first in honor among all Eastern Orthodox Bishops. He has done great work in regards to inter-religious dialogue by visiting Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim countries seldom previously visited. He is well renown for his work with environmental issues, so much so that he has been given the title the Green Patriarch and is considered the Green spiritual leader in the world
