Standing behind the four seated players are three uniformed players flanking their coach in the center. The team jerseys are dark-colored shorts and tank top jerseys with "PLATOS" stitched across the chest in light-colored letters. Centered between the four seated players is a draped platform holding four trophies. The center trophy is the Jim Londos trophy that is awarded to the N.H.I.B.T. champions. Hanging in the background, centered between two white pillars is a banner with tassels that reads: " N.H.I.B.T. Champions 1936." In the lower left-hand corner is embossed: "Ebert Studios W. Madison St. Chicago." The National Hellenic Invitational Basketball Tournament (N.H.I.B.T.) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1931. The purpose of the N.H.I.B.T. was to provide an outlet for Greek youths to have fun and escape the stresses of the Great Depression, to network with fellow Greeks, and to use the emerging sport of basketball as a tool for Greeks to assimilate to American culture. The N.H.I.B.T. has held annual basketball tournaments since 1931. The 1936 champions were the Chicago Sons of Plato Assumption. A member of the team, and tournament MVP, was Tom Bouzeos who would become, along with his brother Phil, influential in keeping the N.H.I.B.T. going for as long as it has. Tom is in the N.H.I.B.T. Hall of Fame. Tom Bouzeos passed away in 2012 at the age of 96.
