Object Description
Black and white photograph of 17 men and women dressed in traditional clothing. They are in two lines - 9 women surrounding one man in the back (holding a gun) comprise the back row, while 7 men make up the first row. All seem to be posed for the camera A small text stamp in white reads "Athanus Bros Chicago" at the bottom of the photograph.

The back of the photograph has three lines of Greek text written in pencil at the top of the photograph. Off to the right of that has, "Eight Street Theatre" written in cursive with blue ink, double underlined in pencil. At the bottom of the back of the photograph is the name, "Hamal" written in the same cursive handwriting and blue ink. Off to the right of that is a mail address sticker reading, "Hrisoula Hamal 5815 W. Higgins #2F, Chicago, IL 60630-2010". This address is crossed out in pencil, and written to the left in cursive reads, "old address".
Origin
The Eighth Street Theatre was located on the corner of Wabash Ave. and 8th Street. It existed from 1900 to 1960. It hosted events such as the 1907 Democratic City Convention, boxing matches, and a program known as "The WLD Barn Dance".

It was demolished in 1960 and replaced with an addition to the Conrad Hilton convention fascilities.
