Object Description
Black and white photograph of a group of young men and women standing on a stage dressed in traditional Greek costume. Most of the young men are sporting fake mustaches and wearing white fustanellas, the Greek version of a kilt or skirt.   The young ladies are wearing long skirts, blouses with vests and various types of scarves or head-coverings. They are all standing in a semi-circle with a large light colored flag directly above and behind them.  The backdrop is made up of a series of arched panels that extend from one side of the stage to the other.  Each panel is a foot or two in front of the other and is painted to look like trees and leaves - giving the entire scene a wonderful sense of depth.  The donor has written some of the people's names in green marker. Towards the bottom there is some writing in Greek.  The border of the photo has faded into a mellow gold color.
Origin
Donated by Coula Papadatos. Photo is cira 1930's-40's.
