Object Description
This photograph is five photographs superimposed onto one large photograph. Four photographs of the team, three of which are posed and one an action shot from a soccer game, are in the corners of the image. In the center is a circular image of three men kneeling. At the bottom center of the image is "Apollon of Chicago 1950" hand written. A two-tone tan and brown border outlines the image, which is sepia in tone.
Origin
Based on information from the donor, Nikos Papadopoulos, this photograph is of the first Greek soccer team in Chicago, the 1950 team "Apollon". The center image of three players are C. Pappas, Lampros, and M. Vlamis. The bottom left corner photo features players: (Kneeling) M. Vlamis, A. Langas, Lampros, C. pappas, I. Langas; (Standing) Manager M. Tsolinan, J. Spyros, A. Langas, I. Tragos, J. Spyropoulos, Protopapas.
