Object Description
A large photograph of a banquet in honor of the Honorable Stefanos Rokanas Consul General of Greece, given by the Cephalonian Brotherhood of Chicago. Donor's father, Nick Tzakis, seated, 2nd table from right, sixth person on the left. Donor's mother is to his right. Photograph has a number of tears and creases along the left, right, and bottom edges, but is otherwise in relatively good shape.
Origin
Donor's mother and father (Marianthe & Nick Tzakis) were born in Cephalonia, Crete. Donor's father left Cephalonia for Odessa, Russia where he was a purveyor of meats for export to various restaurants. During the Russian Revolution, shorty after WWI, he immigrated to the US.

Donor's mother arrived in the US in 1922 from Cephalonia without a job. She married Donor's father upon arrival and had three children, including the donor.
