Artist Autobiography -

Born in the United States in 1981, I immediately moved to Greece with my parents to spend the rest of my childhood and adolescence in the city of Athens. My schooling was all held in a Greek private school and supplemented by many activities in the theatre, voice and French department outside school. I was captured by the magic of European and American cinema at a young age and set out to come to America to pursue an acting career at Northwestern University. After many struggles I decided that my role in the arts resided elsewhere, and started to pursue directing and the art of photography. I still go back to Greece to visit my family and most of my work and experience is covered by my dominant Greek culture. Only recently have I started to embrace America and its beauty and creativity and have found that there is a lot to learn and capture in this artistically rich country.

Artist Notes -

I believe in the beauty of the world, the power that each human being has to savor each moment and each detail as they travel through the journey of life. There is so much to see in nature, so many beautiful human voices to listen to, so many flowers to smell, so many faces and hearts to touch and so much good food to taste that no one could possibly capture all of them in a lifetime. Yet, we as imperfect human beings, have the choice to seize as many opportunities as we can to enjoy these gifts that God has given us in order to feel full. Art helps us seize those moments of divine creativity and put the idea into action.

"It's a celebration of Greek beauty, the blue water, the food, the connection between our people and a long, long, history that flourishes in the present."

"I am constantly inspired by my country, it constitutes the biggest part of my work. The colors of Greece, the blue sea, the flowers and ancient remains, the unexplored Islands traditions still to be revealed through my work are of big importance to me."

1. I started off as an artist by acting and was mostly influenced by film, aspiring to become a film director.

2. On a very small scale.

3. The world, people, looking at the ocean, my family, changes in my life, music.

4. Film is my primary influence outside everyday life, I especially love European cinema.

5. There are always social and political influences.Since I draw my themes from the world around me, but I like to focus on the positive, the escapist themes that make people euphoric.

6. I'm mostly exploring film and photography technique. MY ideas mostly represent all uplifting, magical/romantic view of the world, from a child's point of view.

7. It's like a mixture of vivid color, a playful exploration of nature and objects.

8. My process of inspirational and productiveness on an everyday basis. Pictures frame within my mind at every minute of the day.

9. I try to embrace emotion and experiences close to people who I admire and who bring light and hope into my life.

10. I simply wish to give pleasure to the eye. I want people to feel like they can reach inside my photographs or films and touch whatever is inside.

11. I find most of my inspiration from my friends and family. Teachers have been both encouraging and discouraging, each one leading me in the proper direction.

12. It's a celebration of Greek beauty, the blue water, the food, the connection between our people and a long, long, history that flourishes in the present.

13. I am constantly inspired by my country, it constitutes the biggest part of my work. The colors of Greece, the blue sea, the flowers and ancient remains, the unexplored Islands traditions still to be revealed through my work are of big importance to me.
