Object Description
A black and white formal portrait of a family from the 1880s. There are two women, two men, and a baby. The older woman is sitting in the chair, holding the child on her lap. The child is in an all white outfit. The woman is wearing a stripped apron and headpiece. The other woman is standind to the left and behind the sitting woman. She is wearing a stripped dress, white apron, and a headdress. There is a man in a black suit standing to her right, and besides him is a man in a traditional Greek costume. He is wearing a white skirt, white stocking, an embroidered vest, black tassels around his knees, and black shoes with pompoms. Both men have dark hair and moustaches.
Origin
Photo donated by Maria Furla. She was born Jul. 20, 1915 and died Mar. 17, 2007. She was born near Tripoli, Greece. She married Gus Leo Furla on July 31, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1984.

The young woman in the photograph is named Panagiota Panagiani, and she is the grandmother of the donor.
