Object Description
A black-and-white photographic print. A large group of people are standing out side a building. They are dressed nicely, with the women wearing dresses and the men wearing suits and ties. Most of the women are wearing hats. A woman at the left, in a polka dot dress, is holding a small icon, while a child near her is hold a censer. The people in the photograph appear to be gathered around something, but whatever they are looking at is out of frame, so it is unclear what it is.
Origin
This photograph is from the consecration of St. Andrew's in South Bend, Indiana, in 1956. At the time, the church was located on Michigan Avenue, however the congregation is now located on Ironwood Road. The identities of the people in the photo are unknown.
