Object Description
A black and white photograph of seven men around a wooden table. Five of the men are sitting; two of the men are standing behind the man at the head of the table. One of the men standing is wearing a priest's collar.  The remaining men wear suits and business clothing. There is a large bookshelf at the back of the room which has many books and statues of elephants on it. There is an American Flag and an Illinois State flag, as well as the Illinois state seal in between the flags. There are books, papers, and other office apparatuses on the table.

Featuring: Samuel Maragos, Greek Consul General Athanasopulos, a Greek Orthodox priest from Springfield, Peter Pappas and Jim Kiril.

Former Cook County Judge Samuel C. Maragos was an attorney who specialized in municipal law, wills, tax, commercial and trust law, Mr. Maragos practiced with his son, Dean, at Maragos & Maragos.As a state representative and state senator from South Chicago from 1968 to 1980,he helped pass the no-fault insurance law, the law against panic-peddling and bills related to the Illinois Port Authority, which he served on as vice chairman. He voted for open housing and the Equal Rights Amendment. Mr. Maragos served several terms as an appointed Cook County judge in the early 1990s.
