Object Description
A black and white photograph of a sample room at Pallas Candy Co. It is mounted on a grey and brown cardboard frame. The frame has three brown lines, with a grey back ground. The lines go all along the boarder. The middle line is the thickest of the three, the other two are the same size. In the photo, on the right and left side there are long glass display boxes which contain different types of candy. Behind these display cases, there are shelves with boxes of candy and portraits. At the back of the room, in the center of the picture, there is a statue of Athena with an American flag hanging behind it. To the left and right of the statue are other boxes of candy which are on display. In the middle of the room stands a young man dressed as Hermes, the messenger god. He is holding two boxes of candy. He is wearing a winged helmet, and a traditional looking Greek robe.
Origin
Constantinos Lukis donated these photographs of his father's buisness, The Pallas Candy Company. The sample room of the Pallas Candy Company is where all the candy was on display.
