Origin
The farm house was built in the 1830's and consisted of 102 acres, a large house, a cottage, a dairy, hay barn, and silo. Later, another cottage and chicken coop were added.
"Besides subsitance farming, my parents took in Greek tourists as boarders in Summer and hunters in the Winter. Many times us children had to give up our bed for paying guests. There was no central heating so winters were cold. All of Pop's brothers (4) and sister (1) that were in the US helped as best they could. They came from NYC, about 2 hours away, with their families. As us children grew up and went into the world, farming and tourist were given up. Then my father had to retire with bad health. The property is now in the possession of my brother John. "
