Object Description
Black and white photograph of the inside of a large ballroom with soaring ceilings, a voluminous stage area and a sea of attendees in formal black-tie attire.

The background takes up most of the upper half of the photo and has the appearance of an old European castle or palace.  The stage is terraced with a stone wall backdrop and a few scattered arborvitae.  The upper terrace has members of an orchestra seated on it with music stands in front of them.  The lower terrace has empty wooden chairs arranged in rows.  On both sides of the stage, stone turrets stand floor to ceiling - evoking an even greater sense of awe and importance to the event.  To the right of the stage, and just beyond the turret, the grand palace continues with elaborate stone balconies and elegant arched openings and fills in the rest of the photo.  All of the balconies are packed with people, while crowds of even more people pour into the room through the arched entryways.

Reaching across the middle of the photo in a semi-circle is a very large group of mostly men, most of whom are wearing tuxedos with bow-ties and a fez with a long tassel.

In the lower right hand corner, written in white ink in all caps:  "Public Installation of the AHEPA Chapters Numbers 46,93,94 & 103, Attendance 5500"
