Formal portrait of eleven women. Photograph is in a true deep sepia tone. There is a group of women, seated and posed in two rows. They are in the center of the frame. The women in front are seated and the women in back are standing behind them, the women on the sides and all turned in the center. The floor is tile, and the wall behind them seems decorated with paintings made to give the appearance of arcades with columns and a carved wood door. At the photo's top left there is some sort of staining, perhaps water damage, that has destroyed some of the image
