A typed, black texted letter, from The American Red Cross. In the central-top of the letter is the header which reads, "The American Red Cross, Harris County Chapter, 2710 Albany Street, Houston. Texas, dated June 16, 1943." In the upper right corner is the "National Officers" with the names of the individuals and occupations listed: Franklin D. Roosevelt. President. Charles Evans Hughes, Vice President, Herbert Hoover, Vice President, Wayne C. Taylor. Treasurer, Mable T. Boardman, Secretary and Norman H. Davis Chairman Center Committee."  On the upper right corner is the "Chapter Officers" with the names of the individuals and occupations listed: W.A. Paddock, Chairman, L.S. Bosworth, Vice Chairman, George D. Wilson, Vice Chairman, M.D Jenkins, Treasurer, Mrs. Allen B. Hannay, Secretary, and Mary Snoddy Executive Secretary.  The letter reads, "My dear Mrs. Economidy: When you came into my office yesterday, to tell me that you were leaving soon, for New Orleans, I didn't realize that you were leaving the Canteen right then, and later when I went out to see you-no Mrs. Economidy! I am so sorry not to have had a chat with you and heard something of your plans. We shall miss you very much and only hope that it will not be too long before you are with us agin, as we have all enjoyed the association with you. If you do not leave Houston soon, come down some noon and have lunch with me, and we will get extra service from our Canteen girls. My very best wishes to you, and I sincerely hop to see you again, before too long a time. With real appreciation for your loyalty and good work. Fondly, illegible signature.
