Object Description
Diploma awarded by the Greek School Socrates. The diploma printed on beige stationery with decorative blue border surrounding the text printed on black ink. In the middle of the document is a blue colored owl and blue award sticker located on the top right of the document. The text written all in Greek reads, "Greek School Socrates, Full six grade of Greek-American school of the Hellenic Community Association of Chicago, indicative student Georgois Papagelia from Vassaras, 9 years old, attended his lessons taught in Greek and English during the school year of 1936...1937."

The object is owned by the Powers family and is connected to other items and photographs within the same collection.
