Object Description
A small baptismal gown with embroidered characters in many colors and a blue Greek key at the bottom. There are red, green, and blue embroidered lines near the neck.
Origin
The fabric of the dress is hand woven of silk fabric, constructed completely by hand and embellished with Greek motifs and hand smocking. The dress was given to Cathy Gofis by Zoe Rummel for restoration. Cathy Gofis and Zoe Rummel were both members and past presidents of St. Helen Women’s Philoptochos of Saints Constantine and Helen church of Palos Hills, IL.
