Origin
This item is part of a collection of cookware used in a restaurant owned by the Deamantopoulos and Mermingas families. George Deamantopoulos married Emily Mermingas and both families opened candy stores and restaurants. These items may be from Bertha Mermingas Emmanuel's truck stop restaurant on the corner of Milwaukee Avenue, Foster Avenue, and the Northwest Highway in Chicago, Illinois. This restaurant was open in the 1940s and 1950s. The items also may have been used in the cigar, candy, sundae store located at 4800 North Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago in the 1920s and 1930s.
