Object Description
Crushed velvet apron in a green/gold color trimmed with lace. Apron has some staining on right corner edges. According to the donor, this item dates back to the early 20th century, with the outer lace likely being a later addition to the garment. The lace on the center of the apron appears to be much older.
Origin
This garment comes originally from Thebes and was worn by several generations of family members to church and celebrations such as weddings. The donor wore it while teaching Greek School for the Assumption Church in Madison, Wisconsin and celebrating Greek Independence.
