Object Description
White Japanese demitasse cup. Painted red lip and handle of cup with red, green, yellow, blue and pink painted scene of floral motif and women in a garden with paper lanterns and structures similar to gazebos.
Origin
This cup is part of a set of four that was donated by Peter Barbatsuly. The matching saucers were also donated and catalogued separately. Along with these cups were donated numerous kitchen items from the Barbatsuly family. According to Peter Barbatsuly, these demitasse cups originate from Japan.
