Object Description
White doily with salmon color around the edges and around the center. The center has a circular hole in it, surrounded in the salmon colored thread in the form of petals. This in turn is suttounded by eight diamond shapes radiating from the center, with the two bottom legs much longer than the top ones. In between these shapes, there are X's made of thread. At the top, they have checkered triangles between them, with a scalloped design radiating from their tips, forming eight rounded edges, which then have salmon edging attached.
Origin
Doilies were used to protect furniture and as decoration. They are known for their open work, which allows the object beneath them to be seen through them.
