Object Description
This is a souvenir notepad from Crete.  It is about four inches by six inches in total.  The notepad itself is encased in a book-like binding with a decorated cover, a plain back and a multi-color string made of wool or yarn strung through the fold for hanging.

It is in a tan case with the letters "KPHTH" in black in the middle. It also has geometric designs on the top and bottom in purple and yellow, with a silvery blue design on the outside and two interlocking yellow diamonds outlined in green on the inside. Directly below the "KPHTH," there are blocks of color in purple, green, silver, and a burnt orange. On either side of this there are green poles with yellow diamonds on the top (outlined in green) with little circles at the point and in the middle of each of the diamond's sides. There is also a yellow thread connecting the two poles. The notepad has a chord of braided yarn for carrying that is red, blue, yellow, and green. The back of the notepad is plain.

Inside, there is a green lining, and the paper pad, which has little circles at the top of each sheet.
Origin
