Object Description
This candleholder was meant to hold two candles, with a plce to carry it in the middle, forming the shape of a three-pronged fork. The base of each candle holder is flower shaped, under which is the head of an animal, whos tongue protrudes to make a small hook. One side has two hooks. Below the heads, there are vines and leaves, with a flower in the center of the candle holder. The base of the holder has creatures with scales, a dragon-like head, front legs, and a tail. In between the heads of these creatures, there is a flower like the one on the stem. The bottom of the holder has a flower and vine design.
Origin
In the church, candlesticks that hold two candles is used to symbolize the dual nature of Jesus. Candleholders are used to keep candles upright and to collect the dripping wax.
