Object Description
The blanket has a navy blue base cloth. There are verticle rows of green and yellow, along with pink and blue. The green has a pattern of squares and small horizontal lines. The yellow is in between two rows of green. It has a square between the green squared, and also has small green horizontal lines. The pink and blue follow the same pattern. The lines of pink, green, and yellow are separated by small horizontal lines of maroon. The center of the blanket is entirely maroon and blue, following the same pattern as the pink. There is an unfinished crocheted fringe of pink, green, maroon, and yellow around the edge. The colors alternate, and each block of color has three ridges on top.
Origin
Blankets such as these were often handmade and used in dowries. The prospective groom would judge the size of the stack of blankets included in the dowry before making his decision.
